Always an excellent place to take the kids to cool off for a few hours. Admission is $4/person and military vets can get in for $1.50.
The employees that were working today were super unprofessional. I am a camp counselor and I was appalled by the choice of words from some of the lifeguards and the office staff. There was some thunder so we quickly got our group out of the water and to the locker rooms. Not even 10 mins into getting 20 young children changed did a lifeguard come in and yell "I'm closing the gate in 3 minutes and you'll be locked in here!" Of course the young children in my care took that literally and panicked. Then the office staff woman with the tattoo on her forearm yells to the attention of the camp counselors that the pool deck has metal under it and if lightening strikes we'll all be electrocuted. In front of children! At least 60-70 small children! She then says shortly after that if we get electrocuted it'll be our "fault." I couldn't believe she'd say such things in front of small children who absolutely took her words literally, some beginning to cry from fear. So unprofessional and pathetic. I've never had a problem with the pool or staff but today was a totally different experience and I will be calling into the manager David M. about training these kids (I say kids because they were all teens or young adults) to be more aware of the fact that they are around small children and need to be tasteful and cautious with their words, tones, and attitudes. We took about 15 mins to exit with our 20 children and 4 counselors. That was impressive but clearly not fast enough for the rude staff.
We had a great time! All the staff are super friendly and helpful.
End of story we left within 5 minutes of arriving and we received our money back .
Will never return , with in 2 minutes of entering the pool someone yelled at my husband and daughter and forced my daughter to take off her diving mask and told her she is not allowed to use. Then told us they would not refund our money.... no rule in that place says my daughter or anyone could not use a whole face mask . ( my daughter has used this for a year and it's the only way she will swim ) these days parents take dry drowning / drowning serious no one is going to tell my daughter she can't be safe with her swimming and restrict her from being comfortable with learning to swim .
I also have issues with the hours of this pool. The open swim times are terribly short and you can only visit certain days of the week.. I would love to come spend all day. I'd buy food from the concessions and spend money here. But because of how scheduling works out, I'm usually lucky to get 2 hours here.
The pool is great. We've been coming here for 4 years now. Always seems nice and clean. Love the zero entry. Great for little kiddos. Employees are usually super nice. I have issues with some of the excessive rules and how each of the employees seems to interpret them differently.. We were told no inflatables. Even for our infant. So we brought pool noodles and a foam infant float to our following visit only to be told we would not be allowed to use those either. I overheard a family being told the kids could not use their snorkels and flippers. I watched 2 boys throw a football back and forth in the pool until someone was finally hit in the face. I would have classified a football under "inflatables"
